Choosing a project is a personal choice that can be difficult for someone outside of your own head and who hasn't experienced what you have. In order to help them understand your perspective, consider how you would answer the following Questions:
What excites/interests you about this project? Does that seem like it will be enough to sustain your interest when the going gets tough?
What do you expect to learn, make, get better at as a result of this project?
Would completing this challenge/project or answering this question be an epic win? On the other hand, is it solvable/doable?
Does this project connect with other interests, past projects, or other subjects?
Do you know sources of experience/expertise you could draw on to learn from? (Books, websites, experts, clubs, etc.)
How might you share your excitement, learning, difficulties, resources with others during this project and at the end?
